A poster assignment for PEN Canada, I used the imagery of a bird plummeting to symbolize a writer's loss of freedom.

dark places

The final piece for a Visual strategies project on creating an image based on a "recipe" of something. In this case I chose to profile serial killers, I've always thought it was interesting how fascinated the media and the general public get over their stories, personalities, etc. I leaned towards cover design (mags and books) to influence the layout and composition.

...the subject matter was dark enough, but the details thrown in might just be downright nightmare inducing — i apologize in advance..

Closing the Dog Pound

A quick, in class exercise to illustrate an article. The one I chose to work on was called "iqaluit animal shelter set to close," it was about the immediate closure of the shelter due to various reasons, including cost and social issues in the community. Dogs were portrayed gloomily in order to showcase their unfortunate situation in a town heavy with problems considered more "important" than their displacement.
